About NAAD Foundation
NAAD FOUNDATION is a registered and charitable organization dedicated to classical music, especially of Dhrupad style, at Aurangabad in Maharashtra State.

The foundation Imparts education and training in the domain of classical vocal music and is also associated with performance of traditional musical instruments. This foundation has devoted itself in imparting such education freely to economically weaker sections of the society. The institution is founded with two purposes, one to promote Dhrupad Music, which is the oldest and the purest form of Indian Classical music and second to increase the taste of classical music and to teach it in Auranabad region.

Today the art of Dhrupad has remained thriving through Guru-Shishya parampara, preserved by veteran musicians like Ustad Z.F. Dagar, the nineteenth generation of Dagar Gharana. The Chairman Shri Afzal Hussain of this foundation got training from Ustad Z.F .Dagar and is seeking to cultivate the same spirit of Dhrupad in to his students.



Programmes arranged by tbe FoundatioD iD Last Years
Naad had arranged its very first musical concert titled as "Naad Sangeet Samarob" in Aurangabad. This concert was held on 10th and 11th of May 2003. This musical concert had its aim to create awareness regarding the Indian Classical Music among the local audience and to promote Dhrupad music. Shri Ramakant and Umakant Gundecha were amongst the invited.

For the second time, Naad has the pleasure to record that it had invited Mr. Arun Date and Mrs. Anuradha Marathe for their vocal performance in programme" Shukratara" Both these singers are reputed in the field of Marathui Bhavgeet.

Thereafter Naad had an event titled as IINinad Sangeet Sabba". For this event the institute had invited Shri Sanjeev Abhyankar, a well known classical singer and Shri Buresh Talwalkar, a notable Tabala vadak. This event took place on 15th Nov. 2003.

In this ascending series the foundation had a success in inviting Sbri Pankaj Udhss, internationally acclaimed Ghazal Singer in Aurangabad. This celebrated and memorable performance had its dated 29th April 2004. It registered itself historically in our record.

"Shraddhanjali" a programme arranged for remembers of Late Pakhaj vadak Shri Shankar Bapu Apegaonkar in which well known Dhrupad Singer Shri Uday Bhawalkar and Shri Bahauddin Dagar, Well known veena Vadak were the invitees. They received lot of appreciation.

As a mark of respect to its creator, the foundation had organized the classical concert named as " Shraddha" The governing sense behind this concert was to express the feeling of respect towards Ustad Z.F.Dagar and to have his blessings for the bright future of Naad Foundation. Naad had welcomed Ustad Shahind Parwez for his Sitar Performance at this occasion. This event was also held in Aurangabad on 5th of April 2005.

In the month of Nov 2005 a programme Harmony the Fusion was arranged by this Foundation in Hotel Rama International. Mr. Afzal Husain, the President of our Foundation and Shri Sunil Dewre , Secretary of this foundation have presented this show.

In the month of March 2006 Sangeet Sandha was arranged by this Foundation with Mr. Rahul Sharma, Santoor Player and Aarti Patankar.

In the year 2006 on 3rd August 2006 this foundation arranged programme for Chaugule Sangeet Samaroha. Smt. Anuradha Paul, a famous Tabala Recitals and Famous Kathak Dancer ShalVari Jeminis were invited.

In the month of Sept. 2006 a Mansoon Show was arranged in the Hotel Ambassador, Aurangabad.

Moreover to make the children of backward classes awareness of art, the foundation held workshops in various Municipal Corparations Primary schools with the help of Municipal Corporation, Aurangabad .. The workshops dealt with the basic understanding of music and Drawing.



A breif description about courses offered by the Foundation
The foundation gives training of Sangeet Visharad (Degree Course), baur.eet Alankar (Mastery course) and Syllabus of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

The training of qualifying examinations (vocal/instruments) is also provided by the trust.

The foundation alongwith the above training offers education in the following Sector.

Voice Culture: This is a special course which deals with the detailed study of "Voices" and their types.The course is beneficial for people seeking to expertise themselves in the field of music.

Light Music: To encourage the teen a.ge sector of the society a training in light music is also offered at our foundation.

Moreover the trust offers guidance to students appearing in SA I to III year and M.A. through Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University and M.A., S.N.D.T., Mumbai University.

Naad Foundation looks forward in its musical odyssey which has been started by Dagar Gharana. In promoting its ahns and objectives the Foundation welcomes the cooperation of all.
